Points for Attention in Connecting of Building Steel Structures Bolts
1 In order to make the connection reliable, the number of permanent bolts should not be less than two for each member on the joint and at the end of the splice joint. However, one end connection can be used for the patches of composite members.
2. Twin nuts or other measures to prevent nuts from loosening should be adopted in ordinary bolted connections directly bearing dynamic loads, such as using spring washers or welding nuts and nuts to death.
3. If there is a large gap between the bolt and the hole wall of the building steel structure, the bolt should only be used for tension connection along the axis of the rod. Ordinary bolt connections can also be used in secondary connections of structures subjected to static loads, connections of demountable structures and installation connections for temporary fixed members. However, in important connections, such as the connection between the upper flange of the brake beam or crane beam and the column, the high strength bolt connection should be preferred, and the welding connection should be adopted next, because the connection transfers the horizontal support reaction of the brake beam and is subjected to repeated dynamic loads.
4. When building steel structures bolts connection is used in the splicing of section steel members, because the stiffness of section steel is large, it can not guarantee the close contact of friction surface, so it is not suitable to use section steel as splicing part, but steel plate should be used.
5. Within the scope of high strength bolt connection, the treatment method of component contact surface should be indicated in the construction drawings to ensure the reliable connection of components.
